Phase 3 has been fun! Making and tweeking a recipe for Cauliflower pizza crust & breadsticks. I've also made several batches of ice cream with Truvia instead of sugar. It's been a big hit! Looking forward to Phase 4 (sugars and starches) but also a little nervous. Rick and I are going to Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort for the night, the day we start P4, and no kids will be with us! Should be a great time.

Day Thirty Four
Weight 251
Day 2 on Phase 3. Loving life! Yesterday I made a batch of cinnamon ice cream with Truvia instead of sugar and it's excellent! It's so good that I made my husband strawberry ice cream with Truvia today! Dina said the strawberry ice cream is good, but she likes the cinnamon best! "It's like cinnamon toast crunch Mommy!" Yesterday I also made cauliflower crust pizza and chicken enchilada stuffed red peppers. It's been fun playing around with recipes. Tonight we're having lettuce wrapped tacos. Can't wait to have some salsa, cheese and sour cream on them!!!

Day Thirty Two

Been a busy weekend. We start Phase 3 tomorrow. This means we can incorporate dairy into our diet and our calories go from 500 to about 1500. We also have a much larger selection of veggies, proteins and fruits we can eat.
I did some shopping this weekend. I was able to get some new clothes in sizes smaller than I thought I would!!! Was able to get a pair of summer pants in a size 20. I actually bought a size 24 about 6wks ago and never took the tags off so I went to trade them for a 22. Imagine my surprise when the 22s were big!! I have also emptied my closet of my too big items and am happy to add new items. I took all my stuff to HIPS in Clawson. She took all my blouses and shirts and told me to bring the rest back in August! So ecstatic to not be in a 26/28. Wasn't that long ago when those were tight and I was wondering where I'd get pants to fit. I feel so much more limber and strong. I have a long way to go. I would love to lose another 50 lbs. But, we'll take it 20-25 at a time! :-D

1.4lbs away from my short term goal. Down 24.8lbs. Life is good. Tomorrow we will face lots of temptation again but I'm sure we'll be fine. TGIF!!

Day Twenty-Eight

As much as I'm looking forward to adding dairy to my diet I'd love to keep losing and losing and losing!!! But, I said 250 was my short term goal, 220 is my next goal. Then from there any extra will be gravy! Rick has lost just over 24lbs and I'm just under 24lbs. It's a great feeling and we're both wearing clothes a size smaller. It seems I'm losing all my weight around my upper belly, which is great, but seriously need to lose the lower belly/hips and thighs. Maybe that's where the weight will come off next time! Happy Thursday all!

SOOOOO close to 250!! Glad I'm sticking it out a few more days. Can't beat being down 22.6lbs in 27 days! Today is Rick's birthday. The big 4-0! Dina and I did some shopping for him last night. Also, got myself shirts on the clearance rack 2 sizes smaller! Love!

Day Twenty-Six

Lost 21.4lbs so far
Seriously considering moving on to the next phase. I'm very torn on wanting cheese and wanting to enjoy a hot dog with a bun on 4th of July. If I stay on this phase till day 40 that won't be happening on the 4th but, I'm curious how much more weight I'll lose. Rick says he'll do whatever I do. I'm grateful for the support but it's getting harder. You'd think it'd be getting easier. Either way, I plan on doing this again in late summer, early fall. May the force be with me!!

Officially down over 20lbs! Yay!!! 5.8lbs away from my original goal. We'll see how long it takes to get me there! Rick is down just over 20lbs too. Such a great feeling. I bought a new swim top yesterday that was 3 sizes smaller than my one from last summer. It's just a bit small (have to pull it down after walking etc) but it fits my chest perfectly. Figure if I keep losing I won't have to worry about pulling it down! Thank you Dr Simeon!!

Grrr...so I had a small cheat yesterday and only 2/10 of a lb lost. Rick cheats and loses 2lbs. Seriously. He's now lost 22 lbs and I'm at 18. Turd!

Day Twenty-Two

Down 6/10 of a pound. Guess I'll take it. Lost just over 4lbs this week and 2". Trying to stay motivated to do another 2wks on the protocol. I could make tomorrow my last day at 500 calories but I'd like to lose more before I move on to phase 3. Happy weekend all.
